Important information for 8th IAC delegates

6 September 2012 | Ingrid Sinclair

The 8th International Aquarium Congress (IAC) is here, and we're ready to welcome you to beautiful South Africa. Here are some details to ensure a smooth arrival in Cape Town.

Transport from Cape Town International Airport

The 8th IAC’s official transport company is the GreenCab – Cape Town’s only carbon-neutral transport system. Look out for their branded vehicles at Cape Town International Airport arrivals. Two Oceans Aquarium volunteers will be at the airport on Saturday 8 September and Sunday 9 September from 10h00 to 15h00 to show you the way.

Registration for delegates

Delegates can register in the foyer of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 14h00 on Sunday 9 September. If you are unable to register between 14h00 and 18h00 on Sunday, registration will also occur from 07h00 to 08h30 on Monday 10 September.

Welcome reception on Sunday evening

The 8th IAC welcome reception is happening at the Two Oceans Aquarium on Sunday 9 September from 19h00. The dress code is smart casual.

Sponsored by I&J, the evening will be your opportunity to mingle among our clownfish, meet your fellow delegates, network and relax next to the Aquarium’s stunning exhibits. Delegates will have a chance to see the front- and behind-the-scenes aspects of the Aquarium.

Please register for the IAC at the CTICC to gain admittance to this event.

Sign up for the field trip

If you haven’t done so yet, please be sure to sign up for the field trip of your choice. The vehicles to Gansbaai will leave the CTICC on Friday 14 September at 07h00 and 10h00, depending on your choice.

The deadline for opting into this trip is Wednesday 14 September at 17h00. You can either sign up online or visit the Marine Dynamics stand (number three) at the 2012 IAC Exhibition.

Don’t forget your camera, sunscreen and hat for this fantastic whale-watching or shark-diving experience. Put on your swimsuit under your clothes and bring something warm to wear; Marine Dynamics will take care of the rest.

I was just pondering about a cnoundrum of the most simplistic form. If this is MRPRICEINTHELOOP then should we not rather advocate the promotion of MR Price merchandise on this blog? All is fine promoting the diverse aspects of fasion and all its gay (not the homo adjective) splendour, but to steer potential business into another companies back yard seems to be a bit conflicting to say the least. Why do you not rather promote the fasion in store and not that is in other competitors showcases ? just a humble Hugh opinion my fab fashionable sweethearts..
